some kind of still-life
Way back I started out with Ilford black and white film in the camera, a Pentax, as I recall. Colorfilm was too expensive and too diffecult to develop yourself, so Ilford FP4 was the answer. I really liked black and white, it was a great way to experience my surroundings.Of course, later on I stared using color, both negative film and kodachrome for slides. Great stuff, Kodachrome,  it was just like the lyrics Paul Simon wrote except I didn't have a Nikon camera, I stayed faithful to Pentax

'They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's
a sunny day
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away'

With digital cameras the format is RAW/DNG and you just convert to black and white with a few clicks, but black and white still give that extra something which I really like.
